Tara Booker Named to Miami Holiday All-Classic Team

CORAL GABLES, FL - George Washington women's basketball junior Tara Booker was named to the All-Classic Team of the Miami Holiday Classic following the completion of the event Thursday evening. Booker averaged a double-double of 15.5 points and 10 rebounds in the Colonials' two games in south Florida.
The 6-foot-1 combo forward/guard made 9-of-21 field goals (.429), including 9-of-17 shots behind the three-point arc (.529), and 4-of-6 free throws for 31 points while chipping in 20 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and a steal in a combined 62 minutes of action at the Classic.
Booker posted career-highs of 22 points, six 3-pointers and 13 rebounds in GW's second game, a 70-66 overtime loss against Morgan State on Wednesday. She opened with nine points and seven boards in an 83-62 loss to host Miami on Tuesday.
With her nine 3-pointers, Booker moved past GW Athletic Hall of Fame member Colleen McCrea into 12th all-time in program history with 87 career triples through 50 games. She leads GW in scoring at 10.7 points and ranks fourth in the Atlantic 10 with 30 made 3-pointers at a 41.1 percent rate (30-73), good for 10th in the league.
GW (5-8) completes non-conference play Monday at Rutgers. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 pm.
