Colonials Wrap Up the Final Day of the Patriot Invitational

FAIRFAX, VA - The GW men's and women's swim team wrapped up the final day of the George Mason Patriot Invitational on Sunday at the Jack McKay Natatorium. The Colonials women's squad finished seventh of nine teams as the men's team finished eighth of nine teams at the three-day meet.
Senior sprinter Paola Leor broke her GW record in the 100-yard freestyle when she won with a time of 50.55. Leor was also the anchor leg in the 5th place 400-yard freestyle relay team, with Sydney Saunders, Sloan Saunders and Caroline Myers (3:32.24).
Taylor Cole, Remy Neville, Kristina Martin, and Lindsay Moore teamed up in the 400-yard freestyle relay finishing 16th in the consolation finals (3:46.07). Moore also finished 16th in the 200-yard backstroke (2:09.85). Neville placed 17th in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:32.23.
In the morning session, Myers won the 1650-yard freestyle in 16:54.17.
Sophomore Phillip Graeter had another strong showing for the GW men's squad. He finished fifth in the 200-yard backstroke (1:54.20) as well as led off the eighth-place 400-yard freestyle relay team, with Niccolo Wilson, Alex Etz, Niklas Glenesk (3:10.30).
In the 100-yard freestyle, Etz finished eleventh (47.55) while Glenesk took 16th (47.97) to earn points for the men's squad.
Freshman Spencer Neff took ninth in the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 16:30.79.
The Colonials are back in the pool when they travel to take on Old Dominion on December 4, in Norfolk, VA, set to start at 1:00 p.m.
