Gymnastics Fall to Kent State

WASHINGTON -- The George Washington gymnastics team dropped their second road meet in less than six days, falling to Kent State 193.950-188.600 Friday in Kent, Ohio.
Junior Leslie Delima led the Colonials in every event, posting a top score of 9.800 in the floor event. The team also posted their best score in the floor event for the second consecutive meet, earning 48.475 against the Golden Flashes. GW posted scores of 47.975 in the vault, 46.725 in the bars and 45.425 in the beam against Kent State.
Sophomore Amanda Murphy posted a score of 37.550 in the all-around, just behind Delima's score of 38.075. Fellow sophomore Brittany Burnham posted a team-best 9.725 in the balance beam.
The Colonials next compete against North Carolina State and Florida on Friday, Feb. 5 in Raleigh, NC. The first rotation is set to begin at 7 p.m.
