
Colonials Place Third in Lindsey Ferris Invitational

WASHINGTON, DC - The George Washington women's gymnastics team opened 2010 with the Lindsey Ferris Invitational on Sunday afternoon and finished third of the six competing teams, with a team score of 187.825.
The University of North Carolina won the Invitational with a team score of 192.450 and Temple finished second with a score of 189.150.
The Colonials were led by four competitors in the all-around, with freshman Kayla Carto finishing with an all-around score of 37.750. The other all-around competitors included junior Leslie Delima, sophomore Amanda Murphy, and senior Megan Quinn. Delima finished with a score of 37.725, while Murphy finished with an all-around score of 37.275. Quinn finished with an even 37.000 in her all-around debut for George Washington.
George Washington finished with their highest score in the vault routine, scoring a 48.125, which was the best of any team in the Invitational. The two high scores of the day were achieved by Carto and Delima, who earned matching 9.750 scores in vault and floor, respectively.
The Colonials will now go on the road for three straight meets, with the first one coming on Sunday, January 24th in Morgantown, WV. First rotation is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. ET.
