
Colonials Finish Fourth In West Virginia

WASHINGTON, DC - The George Washington gymnastics team went on the road for the first time in 2010 and improved their score by nearly a full point, but still placed fourth in West Virginia with a team score of 188.650. The Mountaineers won their own invitational with a team score of 194.000 and North Carolina State finished second with a team score of 193.225.
The Colonials top rotation was in the floor exercise where they recorded a team score of 48.100 led by four routines 9.575 or higher. The top routine was a 9.850 by junior Leslie Delima, which was also the top score by the Colonials the entire afternoon. George Washington also recorded a 47.625 on balance beam and a 47.125 on vault.
Freshman Stephanie Stoicovy came through with the second highest score for the Colonials with a 9.725 in her floor routine. Stoicovy along with fellow freshman Kayla Carto made their road debuts for George Washington.
The Colonials now will continue to be road warriors as they head to Kent State University next weekend to take on the Golden Flash in a dual meet. The meet is scheduled to take place Friday, January 29th and first rotation is set for a 7:00 p.m. start time.
