WASHINGTON, DC -- George Washington softball coach Kim Staehle has announced the addition of Megan Cusick to the Colonials' coaching staff for the 2010 season.
"We are extremely excited to welcome Megan to our coaching staff," said Staehle. "We feel Megan's outgoing personality and strong work ethic will enhance our student-athletes' experience at GW."
Cusick was recently an assistant coach at Oakcrest High in McLean, Va., helping guide the 2009 team to its first Potomac Valley Athletic Conference title since 1996.
"Our goal is to get to the 2010 Atlantic 10 Conference Championship and Megan will certainly add that much needed depth in our staff to get us there," said Staehle.
Prior to coaching at the high school level, Cusick concluded a four-year playing career at Division III Tufts University in 2008. While at Tufts, Cusick had a standout year as a senior, slugging .478 with eight doubles, 26 runs batted in and 12 walks as she helped her team to a second consecutive New England Small College Athletic Conference Championship.
Cusick was also an annual All-NESCAC and NFCA All-New England Region selection as a catcher, completing her career third all-time in Tufts program history with 155 games played.
