WASHINGTON, DC- Amanda Gabriel was named the 2008-09 softball Most Valuable Player at The George Washington University annual Senior Honors Luncheon held on May 4.

A junior from Fullerton, CA, Gabriel has shined in the circle again for GW this season, leading the team and ranking in the Top 3 in the Atlantic 10 in complete games, strikeouts and innings pitched and setting a single-game record with 16 strikeouts against Temple April 3. She owns every career, single-season and single-game pitching record for the Colonials with a year of eligibility remaining.
