No. 15/t15 GW Surges Past Richmond, 75-59

RICHMOND, VA - Senior Sarah-Jo Lawrence and junior Jessica Adair combined for 36 points and No. 15/t15 George Washington pulled away from Richmond in the second half for a 75-59 victory at the Robins Center Wednesday night.
GW (23-5, 11-2 A-10) remains tied for the Atlantic 10 lead, along with Temple, with its regular-season finale against Fordham Saturday. The Colonials can clinch a share of their seventh straight A-10 regular-season title with a victory over the Rams on Senior Day.
Adair scored 14 points in the first half to help the Colonials to a 36-32 lead at the break.
Richmond (13-15, 6-7) pulled to within 42-41, but GW scored the next 14 points, fueled by six points from Lawrence to gain control at 56-41 with 10:56 remaining.
The Spiders would get no closer than 10 points and the Colonials pushed the lead to 18, 75-57, on junior Antelia Parrish's jumper with 1:39 to play. GW converted 16-of-25 field goal attempts in the second half, while limiting UR to just seven field goals and 26.9 percent shooting over the final 20 minutes.
Lawrence led GW with a game-high 19 points, including 15 points on 6-of-8 shooting in the second half. Adair finished with 17 and senior Whitney Allen posted an 11-point, 10-rebound double-double, her third of the season. Senior Kimberly Beck matched her season-high with 12 assists and chipped in nine points.
GW dominated in the paint, outscoring Richmond, 32-12, despite being outrebounded, 32-29.
