With the regular season quickly approaching, the George Washington women's basketball team welcomes Towson to the Smith Center on Sunday for a preseason exhibition contest at 2:00 p.m. No live stream of the contest will be available, but fans can purchase tickets here to see the team in person.
Under the guidance of Head Coach Ganiyat Adeduntan, GW enters the second season of the Coach G era, looking to build upon a strong foundation set in 2025-26. After falling in the second round of the Atlantic 10 Tournament, the Revolutionaries received a bid into the WNIT and made the most of it, winning three postseason games and advancing to the Great Eight.
GW's three postseason wins were the most since 1997, the year the program advanced to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament, and Adeduntan became the first coach in program history to win a postseason game in their first year at the helm. The team also saw tangible growth under Adeduntan's leadership, shooting 41.1% from the field, the highest team field goal percentage in 11 years, while also registering 13 home wins, the most since 2014-15.
The Buff & Blue return a core of five players from last year's roster, including all-conference guard Gabby Reynolds, who finished top 10 in the league in scoring as a sophomore. Reynolds returns as a premier player within the Atlantic 10 and also aims to become the 35th player in program history to reach 1,000 career points, needing just 276 entering the season. GW's returners also include Sara Lewis, Kamari Sims, Tanah Becker and Jaeda Wilson, who each played a key role in GW's rotation a year ago, starting in a combined 119 games last season.
Towson enters the 2026-27 season coming off a 17-14 record, including a 10-8 mark in the CAA. The Tigers return Zoli Khalil for her senior season after she finished second in scoring at 9.4 ppg. The 6-0 guard from Rockingham, Va., played two seasons at VCU before transferring to Towson in 2025. Towson's 2025-26 season stats can be found here.
