Volleyball Recruit Earns Female Athlete of the Year

KITSAP COUNTY, WA -- Incoming GW volleyball recruit, Hannah Stuart (Bainbridge Island, WA), has been named the Female Athlete of the Year by the Kitsap Sun, the newspaper announced Saturday.
A two-time Metro League Mountain Division MVP, Stuart totalled 1,207 kills, 1,028 digs, 254 blocks and 173 service aces in her four seasons with the Bainbridge High Spartans. The 6-foot-2 outside hitter earned Class 3A player of the year honors last fall after guiding Bainbridge to a fourth-place finish at the state championship.
The GW volleyball team will open the 2007 season Aug. 24 in the second annual DC Challenge with American, George Mason and Georgetown.
