Colonials Sit at 9th After 1st Rd. of GW Invitational

BETHANY BEACH, DE -- GW junior Conor McMahon and sophomore Juan Pablo Zuluaga each shot a one-over-par 73 to pace the Colonials in the first round of the GW Invitational Saturday at the par-72, 6,834-yard Bear Trap Dunes Golf Course on the Delaware Shore. Penn leads the 24-team field after the first day with a 286, four strokes ahead of Seton Hall (290) with Longwood in third with a team total of 291. The GW A team is ninth with a 310 while the GW B team is tied for 10th with Lehigh at 303.
Penn's Chance Pippitone and Monmouth's Anthony Campanile share the lead in the clubhouse, each with six-under 66s.
The tournament concludes Sunday with a 8:00 a.m. start.
Next up for the Colonials is the 54-hole Princeton Invitational, April 7-8, at Springdale Golf Club.
