WASHINGTON, DC - The George Washington women's basketball team improved one spot to No. 20 in the latest Associated Press Top 25 Poll released this afternoon.
GW (8-2) moved ahead of Rutgers, which fell out of the Top 25, after remaining steady at No. 21 the previous week. The No. 20 AP ranking is GW's highest since reaching No. 18 following a 1-0 start to the 2001-02 season.
The Colonials bounced back from their second loss of the season, an 85-62 defeat at No. 6/5 Tennessee on Thursday, with a 74-66 victory over Liberty at the Smith Center on Sunday. Senior Kenan Cole led five players in double-figures with 15 points against the Lady Flames.
The Colonials play their final non-conference home game this weekend, hosting Auburn at Smith Center on Saturday at 2:00 pm.
