Beck Wins Fifth Rookie of the Week Award

PHILADELPHIA, PA - Freshman Kimberly Beck garnered her fifth Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week Award on Sunday, February 13, tying Ugo Oha and Elisa Aguilar for the most conference Rookie of the Week Awards won by a GW player since 1996-97. Beck shared this week's honor with Pam Rosanio of Massachusetts.
Beck, a 5-8 point guard, averaged 9.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals in victories over Dayton on Feb. 6 and Duquesne on Feb. 10. Beck also averaged 7.5 assists per game in the two contests and tied her career best with nine helpers at Duquesne.
Beck leads the Atlantic 10 in assists average at 5.3 and ranks third on the team in scoring average at 8.2 points per game. She has 121 assists on the season, on shy of the GW freshman record.
The Colonials will play the third of three straight road contests on Thursday, Feb. 17 when they take on Saint Joseph's at 7:00 p.m.
