Lazzari and Hokom Named All-Conference

WASHINGTON, DC - Seniors Ruth Lazzari (Seal Beach, CA/Connelly) and Sarah Hokom (Caldwell, ID/Caldwell) were named to the Volleyball All-Conference team, the Atlantic 10 announced on Friday, November 21. This is the third selection in a row for Lazzari and the second for Hokom.
Lazzari is currently second on the team in kills with 356, while attacking at a .223 clip, and leads the team in digs with 360. She was just named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week for her performances against Maryland Eastern Shore, La Salle and Temple to go along with three all tournament selections (at George Mason, GW, at Rutgers) this season.
Hokom has been piling up the honors this season with three Atlantic 10 Player of the Week selections, two tournament MVPs, two all-tournament teams and an Academic All-District II second team selection. She leads the team in kills with 372, while hitting .219. Her defense has also been outstanding. She is leading the team in total blocks with 62 and is second in digs with 343.
These two along with the rest of the third-seeded Colonials start their Atlantic 10 Tournament action tonight, Friday, November 21, against second-seeded Dayton at 8:00 pm in Temple's McGonigle Hall.
