Volleyball Sweeps Radford, 3-0, at GW Invitational

WASHINGTON, DC - Junior Sarah Hokom (Caldwell, ID/Caldwell) hit .533 with a match-high 18 kills to lead GW past Radford, 30-18, 30-12, 30-20, in a one-hour, seven-minute match Friday afternoon in the GW Invitational at Smith Center. It was GW's third straight victory.
Junior Ruth Lazzari (Seal Beach, CA/Connelly) added 12 kills and freshman Lindsey Vernand (Huntington Beach,CA/Huntington) posted a match-high 13 digs.
Junior co-captain Lauren Dunning (Stockton, CA/St. Mary's) assisted on 29 of GW's 38 kills.
Radford (1-4) was led by Kathyrn McHugh and Divona Cox with seven kills each. Karri Attinger paced the Highlanders with 13 digs.
The two-day GW Invitational continues Friday and Saturday at Smith Center with GW facing Liberty at 7:00 p.m. On Saturday, the Colonials play Morgan State at 11:00 a.m. and Rutgers at 5:00 p.m.
