WASHINGTON, DC (Sept. 24) - Freshman Britta Stroman (Richfield, MN/Edina) has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Co-Rookie of the Week for volleyball. Stroman averaged 3.0 kills and .57 blocks while hitting .280 for the week. She recorded 12 kills in GW's three-game sweep Tuesday over visiting La Salle.
Stroman had nine kills and a pair of block assists at Duquesne Saturday, Sept. 22, in Pittsburgh. She leads the team in blocking with 12 assists and four solos and leads the Colonials' starters in hitting percentage (.220) and is third in kills-per-game average (2.54).
Stroman's statistics for the week: two matches, seven games, 21 kills, seven errors in 50 attacks for a .280 hitting percentage and four block assists.
The Colonials face Maryland-Baltimore County Tuesday in a 7:00 p.m. match at Baltimore.
