WASHINGTON, DC (Jan. 30) - The Atlantic 10 awarded freshman Ugo Oha (Houston, TX/Hastings HS) Co-Rookie of the Week for her outstanding play in George Washington University's only game last week, a victory over conference foe Duquesne University on January 24.
Oha accumulated eight points, seven rebounds and a career-high six blocks in 25 minutes of play against the Dukes in GW's 58-44 win to attain her third Rookie of the Week honor. The freshman center has started 14 of the Colonials 20 games this season. Oha leads the conference in blocks, swatting opponents' shots at a healthy 2.32 blocks per game average. Oha's play has also earned her national recognition, ranking 14th in the nation in blocks per game.
Oha shares this week's recognition with University of Rhode Island freshman guard Lindsey O'Neill.
