Volleyball Roughs Up La Salle, 3-0

PHILADELPHIA, PA (Sept. 26)- GW continued to roll by winning its sixth straight game and improve its A-10 record to 2-1 with a three-game sweep of La Salle by the scores, 15-5, 15-4, 15-6, Tuesday night at the Hayman Center in Philadelphia. GW (10-3) came into the match on the heels of three-game sweep of Fordham Friday in New York.
Senior Tracee Brown was again the hitting star for the Colonials with a match-high 20 kills in 33 swings (five errors) for a .455 hitting percentage.
Teammate Suzana Manole put down 12 kills with seven digs while Renee Arnold had eight kills with a team-high 10 digs and four blocks.
Freshman Lindsay Ochs, making just her second appearance as a collegian, had a pair of kills with no errors in three attempts for a .667 percentage and four block assists.
Trina Allen led the Explorers (10-5, 0-2 A-10) with 10 kills while Molly Thatcher added seven kills with 33 assists and eight digs.
GW returns to Smith Center for a pair of A-10 Conference matches this weekend. The Colonials host Massachusetts Friday at 7:00 p.m. and Rhode Island in a Saturday night match also at 7:00 p.m.
