Brown Named A-10 Volleyball Co-Player of the Week

WASHINGTON, DC (Nov. 6) - Senior Tracee Brown (Garnerville, NY/North Rockland) has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Co-Player of the Week for volleyball, the conference office has announced. It marks the second straight week and third time time this season Brown has been recognized by the conference. She shares the honor with Temple's Alma Kovaci.
Brown had a match-high 28 kills in GW's 3-2 victory over Dayton Nov. 4. She helped lead GW to a 2-1 week with victories over Xavier and Dayton following a narrow 2-3 loss at Temple Oct. 31. Brown had a pair of 28-kill, 11-dig performances while averaging 5.5 kills per game for the week. She added 21 kills in the victory over Xavier Nov. 3.
An all-Atlantic 10 Conference selection last season, Brown leads the Colonials with 463 kills for a 4.98 kills-per-game average. She ranks second in the A-10 in kills per game and is among the league leaders with a .317 hitting percentage.
Brown's statistics for the week: three matches, 14 games, 77 kills, 32 errors in 198 attempts for a .227 hitting percentage, six assists, one service ace, 27 digs and nine blocks.
GW's 21-5 (.808) mark is the best overall record in the league. The Colonials are tied with Temple atop the A-10 standings, each with 12-2 records. The Colonials host La Salle (12-19, 0-13) Tuesday night at Smith Center before closing out the regular season against Duquesne Saturday night also at Smith Center.
