Volleyball Downs Flyers 3-1

DAYTON, OH (Oct. 6) - The GW volleyball team won its fifth straight match with an important Atlantic 10 Conference victory at Dayton by the scores, 15-12, 12-15, 15-12, 15-11, Friday night at the Frericks Center, site of this year's A-10 volleyball championship tournament.
Senior Tracee Brown continued to provide the offense for the Colonials with a team-high 22 kills and five block solos as GW set a team record for block solos in a four-game match with eight.
Teammates Renee Arnold (18 kills, 18 digs, three block solos), Julie Jahnke (14 kills , 13 digs) and Suzana Manole (12 kills, 16 digs) all were in double figures in both kills and digs as GW used a balanced attack to ward off the Flyers. Senior setter Jill Levey added 57 assists and 10 digs in the winning effort.
Dayton's Sierra Ashley led the Flyers (9-7, 3-3 A-10) with 27 kills and 19 digs.
GW (13-3, 5-1 A-10) travels to Cincinnati Saturday for a 7:00 p.m. match with A-10 foe Xavier.
