WASHINGTON, DC (Oct. 30) - Senior Tracee Brown (Garnerville, NY/North Rockland) has been named the Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Week for volleyball, the conference office has announced. It marks the second time this season Brown has been recognized by the conference.
Brown had a match-high 29 kills in GW's 3-2 victory at George Mason Oct. 25. She helped lead GW to a perfect 3-0 week with victories at Rhode Island and at Massachusetts. Brown averaged six kills a game while hitting .360 for the week.
An all-Atlantic 10 Conference selection last season, Brown leads the Colonials with 386 kills for a 4.89 kills-per-game average. She ranks second in the A-10 in kills per game and third in the league with a .338 hitting percentage. She has emerged as the Colonials' offensive go-to player and has been a key player in GW's climb to the top of the conference standings with a 10-1 mark.
Brown's statistics for the week: three matches, 11 games, 66 kills, 17 errors in 136 attempts for a .360 hitting percentage, two assists, one service ace, 13 digs and five blocks.
GW (19-4) plays at third-place Temple (13-8, 9-2) Tuesday night in Philadelphia.
