Volleyball Sweeps Fordham, 3-0

WASHINGTON, DC (Oct. 21) GW Volleyball won its second straight match and sixth straight game with a 15-5, 15-9, 15-7 sweep of visiting Fordham Saturday night, October 21 at GW's Smith Center.
Senior Renee Arnold was the star of the match for the Colonials with a match-high 17 kills in 34 attacks with just one error for a .471 hitting percentage. Arnold also had 15 digs and a service ace.
Senior Julie Jahnke was the only other Colonial in double-figure kills with 14 and contributed four block assists. She now has 423 block assists to top the GW career list.
The Rams (5-17, 2-8 A-10) were led by Melissa Langness and Beth Crockett with nine kills each while Kelly Hierlmeier added 15 digs.
As a team, GW hit .224 with 51 kills for the match compared to .093 (41 kills) for Fordham.
GW (16-4, 8-1 A-10) next travels to Fairfax, VA, to face Beltway rival George Mason Tuesday, Oct. 24 in a 7:00 p.m. match.
