Volleyball's Brown Named A-10 Player Of The Week

WASHINGTON, DC (Sept. 20, 1999) -- George Washington's Tracee Brown (Garnerville, NY/N. Rockland) was named the Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Week for volleyball, the conference office has announced. It marked the first time she has won the honor.
The 6-foot-1 outside hitter/middle blocker hit her career-high .733 with 12 kills and just one error in 15 swings as GW swept Fordham, 15-2, 15-6, 15-2, Saturday night in the Bronx. She also contributed nine digs and three blocks as GW won it's fifth straight match.
Brown also was impressive at Duquesne where she hit .600 with 11 kills and two errors in 15 attempts as the Colonials won, 15-8, 15-5, 15-2, Friday in Pittsburgh.
Brown's totals for the week: two matches, six games, 23 kills, three errors in 30 attempts (.667 hitting percentage), 11 digs, six blocks and three service aces. The Colonials have won 14 straight games during their five-match winning streak.
GW (7-3, 2-0 A-10) returns home to Smith Center for the first time in more than three weeks to host defending A-10 Tournament champion Temple on Friday followed by La Salle on Saturday.
