Tracy Wei Wins 4th-Singles Flight Championship

MORGANTOWN, WV (Sept. 12, 1999) -- Freshman Tracy Wei (Marietta, GA), playing in her first collegiate tournament, claimed the championship of the 4th-Singles Flight at the West Virginia Invitational this weekend with victories over the flight's top two seeds.
Wei defeated West Virginia's Andrea Pintaric 6-1, 7-5, in her first match Saturday. Wei's next victim was American's Regan Campbell, the top seed in the flight, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3. Wei closed out her championship Sunday with a 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 barn-burner over Louisville's Kelly Ford, the second seed in the flight.
Sophomore Susie Coggin (Hilton Head, SC), fell in the championship match of the 5th-Singles Flight, 6-4, 6-3, to West Virginia's Anna Marie Underwood. Coggin defeated Bloomsburg's Jean Esposito, 6-1, 6-2, and Eastern Michigan's Lizaan Joubert, 6-0, 4-6, 6-3, to advance to the championship match.
