WASHINGTON, D.C. (May 6, 1999) -- The George Washington University Boys Basketball Camp is accepting applications for one or both sessions in June. The camp is open to boys aged 8-16 and will be staffed by GW head basketball coach Tom Penders along with the GW assistant coaches, Colonials players and high school coaches from the Washington area.
The two one-week day camps are offered June 21-25 and June 28-July 2 at Charles E. Smith Center. Smith Center, which is air conditioned, is located at 22nd and G Streets, NW, on the GW campus. It is just two blocks south of the Foggy Bottom-GW Metro station via the orange and blue lines. Smith Center features a 15,000-square foot main arena, a 25-yard, eight-lane indoor swimming pool and two multi-purpose auxiliary gymnasiums.
Camp registration fee is $230 per week for children of non-GW employees. Parents who register their children for both sessions receive a $50 discount off the total for both weeks.
