Volleyball Defeats UMass, 3-2, Gains A-10 Tourney Berth

AMHERST, MA (Nov. 20) The Colonials volleyball team defeated Massachusetts, 3-2, Saturday at Amherst, MA, and secured a berth in the 1999 Bell Atlantic / Atlantic 10 Volleyball Tournament for the first time since 1995.
GW will face top-seed Temple while second-seeded Xavier will play Rhode Island on Friday, Nov. 26. All matches will be played at Temple's McGonigle Hall in Philadelphia. The championship match will take place Saturday with the winner gaining an automatic bid to the 1999 NCAA Volleyball Tournament beginning Dec. 2 at campus sites to be determined.
