Kevin McKeown joined George Washington University in April 2025 as the Director of Athletic Equipment, where he is responsible for overseeing all athletic equipment operations to meet the needs of GW's student-athletes. In this role, McKeown plays a key part in ensuring the daily success of athletic programs and contributes to the behind-the-scenes operations that support the Buff & Blue.
Prior to his time at GW, McKeown spent seven years at American University, where he began as Assistant Equipment Manager in 2018. He was promoted to Director of Equipment Operations in July 2021, further developing his leadership and operational expertise. With nearly a decade of experience in the field, McKeown brings a high standard of safety, organization, and attention to detail to Foggy Bottom.
A graduate of Johnson & Wales University in Providence, R.I., McKeown earned his degree in Sports, Entertainment, and Event Management in May 2018. He also became AEMA Certified in July 2022.
