Women’s Soccer Earns First A-10 Win over St. Bonaventure

OLEAN, N.Y. – Behind goals from Julia Bilal, Elizabeth Cruz and Naomi Kim, the George Washington women's soccer team tallied a 3-2 win over St. Bonaventure, the team's first Atlantic 10 win of the season. The Revolutionaries improve to 4-6-3 overall and 1-4 in conference action.

The Revolutionaries return to action next Saturday, welcoming La Salle to The Vern for Senior Day. Kickoff is slated for 1:00 p.m., with pregame ceremonies expected to take place around 12:30 p.m. Fans can also watch the match live on ESPN+.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- 6th Minute: The Bonnies tallied the match's first goal, taking advantage of a free kick just outside of the penalty box. Paula Sanabria Diaz buried the shot, giving St. Bonaventure the early 1-0 advantage.
- 18th Minute: Midway through the first half, GW tallied the equalizer off the foot of Bilal, her second goal of 2025. Assisting on the play was Cruz.
- 22nd Minute: The Revolutionaries tallied their first lead of the match four minutes later when Cruz recorded a goal of her own, also her second of the 2025 season. Assisting on the play was Amelia Booth in what proved to be the score that put GW ahead for good.
- 72nd Minute: GW added to its lead midway through the second half when Naomi Kim recorded her second goal of 2025. After Booth's cross was knocked away by St. Bonaventure's keeper, Kim collected the carom and tapped the ball in, giving GW a 3-1 advantage.
- 85th Minute: The Bonnies attempted a late comeback, with Hannah Walker recording a breakaway goal, but it wasn't enough as GW's defense held strong in the 3-2 win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- The Revolutionaries finished with a 14-7 advantage in total shots, while also finishing with a 7-5 lead in shots on goal.
- Kate Silverstein played the entire 90 minutes for GW in net, recording three saves and allowing the two St. Bonaventure scores.
- The Revolutionaries notched a 6-3 lead in corner kicks on the day as well.
- Cruz was the lone player to be issued a yellow card in the match, her first of the season.
