ONE-PAGE GUIDELINESÂ | RETURN TO WORK PACKET
Dear Coaches & Staff,
This webpage serves as an Athletics-specific guide to a return to the workplace. All phases are subject to change due to flexible guidelines provided by the University and the city of Washington, D.C. The following guidelines align with and complement the university’s current plan to return to the workplace.
All coaches and staff are expected to follow the guidelines put forth. If you have any questions, please reach out to your direct supervisor or Andrew Lundt. Thank you for your cooperation and patience!

GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS
- Please see the Return to Workplace packet for a detailed look at our phased approach for returning to campus.
- If you do not feel well, alert your supervisor and do not come to campus.
- Practice good hygiene; wash your hands with soap and water frequently and utilize hand sanitizer stations.
- Do not touch your face. If you must cough or sneeze, use a tissue or your elbow.
- Doors should be propped open to reduce common touchpoints.
- Staff should not congregate or linger in common spaces like mailrooms or hallways.
- All guidelines will be review frequently and adjusted as necessary.
- Follow state and nationwide travel policies if you plan/have to travel outside of D.C.
- This plan will need adjustments and other considerations as we move forward. All guidelines and phases are subject to change. Please check this site for the most up to date information and be on the lookout for emails from Shatara. PHASE I
- Masks should be worn at all time unless you are in your office alone.
- Compliance with temperature checks/symptom checks before entering the building.
- Offices with multiple workspaces should be limited to a capacity that facilitates 6-plus feet of space between staff at all times.
- Hand sanitizer stations will be located at all entrances and should be utilized when entering and exiting buildings.
- Shared office supplies will be relocated to Tin Tabernacle with cleaning wipes nearby.
- Administration Suite and Educational Support Services will be appointment only.
- Practice social distancing at all times (Min. 6 feet apart).
- A sneeze guard will be used at the control desk in Smith.
- Townhomes will remain closed.
- Mt. Vernon offices closed for non-essential staff.
- Staff members with open desk space will be relocated to aux gyms with dividers.
- Social distancing floor stickers will be placed in heavy traffic areas.
- PPE kits distributed to all staff required to return to work during Phase I.
- No in-person meetings.
- Return to work will be on a business-need basis and approved by team leader.
- Operate at 25% max capacity.
- Education on COVID-19 symptoms will be provided to those who are returning to work.
- No outside guests in facilities.
- Remove seating in lobby areas.
- Stay at home if experiencing any symptoms related to COVID-19.
- Staggering report and departure times by at least 15 minutes to avoid high traffic near doors.

- Office usage will be limited 2-3 days per week
- Rotational schedule for assistant coaches is recommended for areas with limited/shared office space
- Out-of-Season sports teams
- Limited use of practice and training facilities based on scheduling No access to office spaces
PHASE II
- Masks should be worn at all times unless you are in your office alone.
- Compliance with temperature checks/symptom checks before entering the building.
- Hand sanitizer stations should be located at all entrances.
- A sneeze guard will be used at the control desk in Smith.
- Administration Suite and Educational Support Services will be appointment only.
- Shared office supplies should remain in Tin Tabernacle.
- Mt. Vernon Offices opens with flex schedule - 25% max capacity.
- Mt. Vernon keypads should be sanitized after every use (add disinfectant wipes near keypads/entrances).
- Smith open with flex schedule - operate at 35% max capacity (subject to University guidelines).
- In-person meetings with no more than two people in a room where physical distancing is possible.
- Meetings in small offices are discouraged.
- Keep physical distancing measures in place.
- Aux Gym set-up remains in place.
- Gatherings of groups of 10-plus people are prohibited.
- Stay at home if experiencing any symptoms related to COVID-19.
- No access to office spaces.
- WHO?
- Continue Phase I restrictions
- Out-of-Season sports teams will be limited to 1-2 days per week of office usage
- Administrative units, specifically Compliance, Marketing, and Communications, will be allowed access to office usage 1-2 days a week
- Rotational schedule is recommended for areas with limited/shared office space
PHASE III
- Masks should be worn at all times unless you are in your office alone.
- Compliance with temperature checks/symptom checks before entering the building.
- Hand sanitizer stations should be located at all entrances.
- A sneeze guard will be used at the control desk in Smith.
- Smith opens at 50% capacity.
- Mt. Vernon opens at 50% capacity.
- Townhomes open at 50% capacity.
- Individuals who can still work at home are encouraged to do so.
- As much as possible, student athlete interactions should continue to be by appointment only.
- Limit outside guests in Smith and at Mt. Vernon Campus.
- In-person meetings limited to five people. Meetings should take place in a conference room or large room; meetings in small offices are discouraged.
- Stay at home if experiencing any symptoms related to COVID-19.
- WHO?
- Continue Phase II restrictions
- All sports teams will be limited to 1-3 days per week of office usage
- In-season teams will have priority of office usage, particularly in office areas with limited space, ie. Townhomes shared my multiple teams/units
- Administrative units may begin using office spaces 2-3 days per week on a rotational basis
PHASE IV
- Masks should be worn at all times unless you are in your office alone.
- Compliance with temperature checks/symptom checks before entering the building.
- Hand sanitizer stations should be located at all entrances.
- Tin Tabernacle and Champions Club open.
- Townhomes open at full capacity.
- Stay at home if experiencing any symptoms related to COVID-19.
- WHO?
- All units will return to normal on-campus work schedules

- Facial coverings should seal tightly and cover your mouth and nose.
- You must wear a facial covering to enter any athletic facility.
- You must wear a facial covering in all enclosed spaces.
- Facial coverings protect others from exposure to YOUR respiratory droplets, in case YOU are infected.
