GW men's soccer released its 2026 schedule on Wednesday, unveiling a 15 match regular-season calendar which features seven contests at the GW Soccer Field in Northwest Washington, D.C.
GW will prepare for the regular season with three exhibition matches, lining up against Montgomery College (Aug. 6) and Loyola Maryland (Aug. 9) at home before visiting VMI (Aug. 13) for its final warmup.
The regular season kicks off at home when the Revolutionaries host Old Dominion (Aug. 20), looking to avenge early-season defeats to the Monarchs each of the last two seasons. The home non-conference slate concludes in September with a matchup vs. Drexel (Sept. 9).
GW will play five non-conference matches away from home this season, including a trio of late-August fixtures at Binghamton (Aug. 23), Navy (Aug. 28) and UMBC (Aug. 31). Trips to Delaware (Sept. 22) and High Point (Oct. 13) complete GW's non-conference slate. Both Delaware and High Point won 12+ matches in 2025, with High Point capturing the Big South title and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Championship.
The Revolutionaries open Atlantic 10 play at home vs. La Salle (Sept. 19), the first of three Saturday A-10 matches at the GW Soccer Field. GW also hosts Rhode Island (Oct. 3) and St. Bonaventure (Oct. 31) on Saturdays, while it welcomes Saint Joseph's (Oct. 20) on a Tuesday. All home regular-season matches carry a 2:00 p.m. kickoff time.
On the road and in conference, GW visits Loyola Chicago (Sept. 26), VCU (Oct. 7), George Mason (Oct. 17), and Dayton (Oct. 24).
GW will be led by Head Coach Matt Watts in his first season, who welcomed 12 new student-athletes to pair with the 16 returning players from 2025. Watts will be assisted by Nick Conklu (3rd season) and Richard Ainscough (1st season).
The Revolutionaries return starting goalkeeper Tom Macauley, coming off a career-best year with a .725 save percentage and 1.89 goals allowed average. Alongside Macauley, GW returns four players who logged more than 1,000 minutes last season: defenders Colin Prendergast and Connor Russ, and midfielders Ben McGovern and Nico Medina. Joel Russ also returns for 2026 after finishing second on the team in points with three goals and one assist (seven points).
GW's complete broadcast schedule and promotional calendar will be announced in the coming days. Visit the schedule page for the complete schedule with kickoff times, and follow @gwmenssoccer on X, Instagram and Facebook for the latest updates.
