Outdoor Track Goes for Gold in Championship Weekend

WASHINGTON - The GW track program is set to compete in the Atlantic 10 outdoor championship weekend, held locally in the DMV on the campus of George Mason University in Fairfax, Va.
HITTING REWIND GW is coming off a regular season which saw several new school records set in the women's field, including two from Kamryn Holness in the 100m (15.57) and 400m (1:06.79) hurdles, two from Dami Oyatayo in the 200m (24.90) and 400m (55.85) dashes and the exceptional 4x100 relay team of Janae Russell, Holness, Olvia Clark and Madison Hardamon earned their record in just 47.35. Heading into the championship, Oyatayo's time in the 400m dash checks in at eighth in the league.
The men's DMR saw a stellar finish to their regular season at last week's Penn Relays, earning a thrilling victory in Friday's DMR race. The team of Michael Bohlke, Pierce Kapustka, Matt Rooney and Nic Rodgers moved up 10 places in the final two legs of the relay to earn the program's first Penn Relay victory over a field of competitors which included conference opponents Fordham and Saint Joseph's, among others.
THE COURSE AHEAD
The Revolutionaries will look to continue a string of eight-straight seasons with at least one men's or women's runner earning all-conference accolades. 2022 was GW's most successful conference championship in recent years, with three men's and three women's runners receiving recognition.

This weekend, the GW Revs will kick off at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon with four men and four women in the 1,500m trials. GW will see action in 11 events on Saturday and six on Sunday, with the schedule for Sunday's finals still TBD. Fans can follow along with live results for the championship meet via GWsports.com.
