Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Take Home Team of the Year Honors for Second-Straight Year
Held in the main arena of the Charles E. Smith Center, a building soon to celebrate 50 years of hosting scores of the top entertainment acts of all-time, the 12th annual Georgeys on Tuesday night brought together the George Washington community in celebration of an exquisite year of the institution's best and brightest student-athletes, teams and moments.
With alumnus, Hall of Famer and media personality Danny Rouhier as host, university leadership gathered to hail GW's 400-plus student-athletes as examples of the power of sport to unite and inspire.
In her opening address to the attendees, President Ellen M. Granberg praised the assemblage, saying "thank you for everything you have given to GW. Wherever your journey takes you next, know that you will always be part of the GW family — and we will always be proud of you."
Attired outside of their customary buff & blue practice gear and uniforms, GW's student-athletes, coaches and staff walked the buff carpet before awards and MVPs were bestowed. Blake Johnson and Amina Robinson were crowned Best Dressed among the nattily outfitted group.
