Outdoor Track Set for Double Meet Weekend

WASHINGTON- After a speedy finish at the JMU Invitational last weekend, the GW track team will make showings at both the UVA Invitational and at the Hopkins and Loyola Invitational this Friday and Saturday.
Last time out, three Revolutionaries- Joe Fahrney, Michael Bohlke and Austin Brotemarkle posted a top finish in their respective events: Fahrney in the 3000m steeplechase, Brotemarkle in the 3000m and Bohlke in the 1500m. In addition to the three event victories, the Buff & Blue collected 12 additional top-10 finishes at the invitational.
On Friday evening, Pierce Kapustka, Nic Rodgers, Michael Bohlke and Austin Brotemarkle will compete in Charlottesville, Va., at the UVA invite. Action for the Buff & Blue will begin at 6:05 p.m. as Kapustka and Rodgers are tested in the 1500m. At 9:00 p.m., Bohlke will make a showing in the 5000m, followed by Brotemarkle's 5000m heat at 9:20 p.m. to conclude the evening. Action from 7:00 p.m. to 9:05 p.m. will be streamed live on ACCNX.
On Saturday, the GW Revs will travel to Hopkins Eastern Campus in Baltimore, Md., to compete in the Hopkins/Loyola Invite. The Revolutionaries will be tested in 12 events beginning at 11:10 a.m., including the women's 4x100m, the men's and women's 1500, the women's 100m hurdles, the women's 100m dash, the women's 400m, the men's and women's 800m, the women's 400m hurdles, the women's 200m dash, and will close the meet out in the men's and women's 3000m steeplechase. Twenty-nine student-athletes will compete across the 12 events, and fans are encouraged to check GWSports.com for updates on the Buff & Blue.
