
Gymnastics Sends Four to NCAA Regionals

INDIANAPOLIS -Â The recently crowned EAGL champions GW Revs gymnastics team is set to send four student-athletes to compete in this year's NCAA Regionals, as announced on Monday afternoon.
The group will compete at the Pennsylvania Regional, hosted by Penn State, in University Park, Pa. on April 3rdat 1 p.m.. The NCAA gymnastics committee selected the top 12 all-around competitors and top 16 event specialists based on national qualifying scores and placed them in one of four regional sites.
Whitman will compete on the national stage for the fourth time in her career. After competing in the all-around last season at regionals, Whitman will compete on floor this year at regionals for the third time in her career, boasting an NQS of 9.920. Whitman claimed the individual title at the EAGL Championship this past weekend on floor with a 9.950, while also being honored as the league's Senior Gymnast of the Year for the second consecutive season.Â
EAGL Gymnast of the Year DeHaan will compete at her first NCAA Regional in the all-around with an NQS of 39.290. In addition to being honored as the Gymnast of the Year, DeHaan collected All-EAGL first team marks on vault, beam, floor and the all-around and claimed second team on bars. DeHaan earned the vault title at this year's EAGL championships and finished second in the all-around in her first season competing all four events at the collegiate level.Â
EAGL Rookie of the Year Montevago will compete on the uneven bars after earning an NQS of 9.890, inclusive of a record-setting 9.975 performance in the regular season. In a dazzling first collegiate season, Montevago was the bars co-champion at this year's EAGL championships and earned All-EAGL first team recognition on both bars and beam.

 Sheremeta will compete as a specialist on both beam and floor at her first NCAA regional appearance after leading the league on the beam this regular season. Sheremeta qualified with an NQS of 9.865 on beam and a 9.865 on floor. Â
