Women’s Soccer Celebrates Senior Day

WASHINGTON – The George Washington women's soccer team celebrated Senior Day on Saturday afternoon at The Vern. The Revolutionaries fell, 5-1, to La Salle, dropping the team to 4-7-3 overall and 1-5-0 in A-10 action.
Lizzy Cruz scored GW's lone goal of the match, netting her third of the season off an assist from Kate McGrath in the 26th minute. Both teams went to the half tied at one apiece, but the Explorers tacked on four scores in the second half to put the match out of reach.
In total, GW was outshot 16-10 in the match, including a 9-6 edge in shots on goal in favor of La Salle. Kate Silverstein played all 90 minutes for GW in net, recording four saves for the Buff & Blue.
The Revolutionaries return to action on Thursday for the team's penultimate home contest of the 2025 season. GW welcomes Rhode Island to The Vern for Pink Day, spreading awareness for all cancers affecting women. Kickoff is set for 3:00 p.m.
