Women’s Soccer Hosts Pink Match at The Vern

WASHINGTON – The George Washington women's soccer team hosted its annual Pink Match at The Vern on Thursday afternoon. The visiting Rhode Island Rams walked away with a 5-0 victory, dropping the Revolutionaries to 4-8-3 overall and 1-6 in A-10 play.
Rhode Island scored one goal in the first half, a rare Olimpico goal off Lauren Macdonald's corner kick. The Rams added second-half scores from Mie Carstensen, McKenna Sylvester, Megan Steinbach and a second from Macdonald to secure the 5-0 win.
GW finished the match with 11 shots, including six on target. Kathleen Ngulefac led the offense with four shots, putting three on frame. Jasmine Black played all 90 minutes in goal, registering three saves on the day.
The Revolutionaries return to action on Sunday, visiting Richmond at 3:00 p.m. on ESPN+.
