Women’s Soccer Announces 2024 Schedule

WASHINGTON – Under the direction of first-year Head Coach Jeremy Williams, the George Washington women's soccer team has unveiled its 2024 regular season schedule. The Revolutionaries open play on Thursday, Aug. 15, hosting American at 3:00 p.m. All nine of GW's home matches will be played at the Mount Vernon Athletics Complex.
Prior to GW's season-opener, the Buff & Blue will participate in two exhibition matches to tune-up for the regular season. The GW Revs will host UMBC on Aug. 8 at 3:00 p.m., then travel to Old Dominion for a 1:00 p.m. scrimmage on Aug. 11.
Including GW's home opener against American, the Revolutionaries begin he 2024 season with eight non-conference matches in a row. Of the eight, GW will host four at home which also includes Binghamton (Aug. 18, 12 p.m.), Bucknell (Aug. 29, 3 p.m.) and Drexel (Sept. 8, 1 p.m.). GW's road non-conference slate includes visits to Loyola (Aug. 22, 6 p.m.), Towson (Aug. 25, 6 p.m.), Youngstown State (Sept. 1, 1 p.m.) and Howard (Sept. 5, 7 p.m.).
Similar to recent seasons, the Revolutionaries will face a 10-game Atlantic 10 slate which begins on Sept. 19 against St. Bonaventure at 3:00 p.m. The Bonnies, who GW defeated 3-2 last year to conclude the regular season, have not fared well against the Buff & Blue all-time, trailing 17-5-2 in the series. GW will also host George Mason (Sept. 29, 1 p.m.), UMass (Oct. 3, 3 p.m.), Richmond (Oct. 13, 2 p.m.) and VCU (Oct. 24, 3 p.m.) at The Vern. VCU will be making its first trip back to the DMV since the 2020-21 COVID shortened season, while Richmond is traveling north to DC for the first time since 2021.
GW will be tested with five road A-10 matches, with the first coming on Sept. 22 at 2:00 p.m. against reigning conference champion Saint Louis. The rest of GDUB's road conference matchups include games at La Salle (Oct. 6, 1 p.m.), Fordham (Oct. 17, 7 p.m.), Davidson (Oct. 20, 1 p.m.) and Saint Joseph's (Oct. 27, 1 p.m.).
The 2024 Atlantic 10 Championship will be played between Friday, Nov. 1 and Sunday, Nov. 10. GW last competed in the A-10 Championship in 2019 when it advanced to the title match. All A-10 Championship matches will be played on the campus of the matches' higher seed.
