Track Sets Three Program Records at Dalton Ebanks Invite

FAIRFAX, Va. – Headlined by two program records from first-year Kamryn Holness, the George Washington men's and women's track team continued its stellar start to the 2024 outdoor season at the Dalton Ebanks Invite. The two-day event also saw Rachel Horowitz set the school record in the 400m dash as well.
Holness, who set the 400m hurdle record two weeks ago at the Fred Hardy Invite, topped her own mark with a time of 1:11.04. The new record time won her heat in the event and placed her 22nd overall. Along with the 400m record, she also tallied a school benchmark in the 100m hurdles with a 16.25. Holness topped the previous mark of 16.95 set by Liberty Mason-Sharma at the Morgan State Legacy meet in 2014-15. The first-year has now set two program records through just two meets in her collegiate career.
Along with Holness, Horowitz also earned a program record in the in the 400m dash with a 57.76. The old record, which was set by Brittany Wilkinson in 2020-21 with a 59.85, was topped by over two seconds by Horowitz. She now owns seven individual program records across the indoor and outdoor seasons, while also being part of GW's indoor 4x400m relay team that owns the school-best time of 3:58.16.
On top of the three program records, GW also set four PRs during the event. Horowitz got in on the action with a personal best time of 25.65 in the 200m dash, while Una Boylan raced to a 1500m time of 4:40.66 for 12th overall. In the same event, GW teammate Sarah Mitchell put together a phenomenal performance, finishing in second place with a 4:30.29. On the men's side, Michael Bohlke dominated the 5000m race, finishing first overall out of 62 runners with a time of 14:26.85. The mark sets a new PR for Bohlke, who finished as one of GW's three top-five finishers in the event. Kevin Conlon recorded a time of 14:35.88 for third, while Austin Brotemarkle notched a mark of 14:38.24 for fifth. GW's final PR came in the 10000m when Lucas Brown set a time of 31:02.46 for fourth overall. Brown breaks his previous best time of 31:49.01 by nearly 50 seconds.
Headlining GW's other top ten finishers were Ryan Fowkes, who placed seventh in the 800m race with a time of 1:52.78, while Olivia Syftestad raced to a fifth-place finish in the 5000m with a mark of 17:41.77. Jacob Heredia tallied a seventh-place finish in the 1500m race with a 3:52.79 as well for the Revolutionaries.
