Gymnastics Sends Three Individuals to Arkansas Regional

INDIANAPOLIS - GW gymnastics will have three student-athletes competing in this year's NCAA Regionals, as announced on Monday afternoon. Senior Kendall Whitman will compete in the all-around and will be joined by junior Sarah Zois on vault and first-year Maya Peters on beam.
The trio will compete at the Arkansas Regional, hosted by the University of Arkansas, in Fayetteville, Ark. on April 4 at 2 p.m. The NCAA gymnastics committee selected the top 12 all-around competitors and top 16 event specialists based on national qualifying scores and placed them in one of four regional sites.
After qualifying on floor each of the last two years, Whitman will compete in the all-around on the national stage for the first time this year after qualifying with a NQS of 39.285. Whitman finished second at this weekend's EAGL Championships highlighted by an individual championship on floor. She was also honored as the EAGL Senior Gymnast of the Year.
Zois qualified on vault via her NQS of 9.875. The junior qualified for NCAAs for the first time in her career and is GW's first event specialist on vault since Deja Chambliss in 2021. This year, Zois was named to three All-EAGL teams, including first team recognition on vault and beam.
Peters qualified in her rookie campaign on beam with an NQS of 9.895. In a dazzling freshman season, Peters was a First Team All-EAGL recipient and tied for second in the event at the EAGL Championships with a 9.900.
