Fifteen George Washington gymnasts have been named to the 2024 All-East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Scholastic Team, the league announced on Tuesday.
Â
To be honored, gymnasts must have maintained a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above throughout the 2023 calendar year. All first-year gymnasts were eligible for the nomination based on 2023 fall semester grades alone. GW upped its team total by one from last year, topping the mark of 14 set in 2023.
Â
Seniors Payton Lynch, Anneliese Silverman and Kendall Whitman headlined the group of honorees with Lynch and Silverman earning the award for the fourth time in their GW careers. Whitman picks up the honor for the second time in her career, her first since the 2021 season.
Â
The junior class included Rachel Katz, Nancy Kiner and Marlee York who were honored for the third time in as many years, while Madi McMullen picked up her first award. GW's sophomore class of Kasey Burke, Kylie Kazmierski, Catherine O'Rourke and Deana Sheremeta were all honored for the second time in their careers.
Â
First-years Delaney DeHann, Brooke Izzo, Maya Peters and Sophia Tyeryar were all recognized for the first time.
