
Nine Gymnasts Named to All-EAGL Teams

WASHINGTON -Â Nine George Washington gymnasts were selected to All-East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Teams, the league announced on Monday.
Senior co-captain Kendall Whitman led the Buff & Blue with four selections, including All-EAGLÂ First Team honors on vault (9.865), beam (9.840), floor (9.930) and in the all-around (39.225). Whitman's posted the top score on floor in the league and brings her All-EAGL total up to 10 during her outstanding four-year career. Last season, Whitman was a First Team selection on vault and floor and Second Team honoree on beam.
Fellow senior co-captain Anneliese Silverman was also honored four times, earning All-EAGLÂ First Team honors on beam (9.835) floor (9.865) and in the all-around (39.165) while placing on the All-EAGLÂ Second Team on vault (9.820). In her breakout senior campaign, Silverman adds the four honors to her Second Team selection on beam last year.
GW also saw three additional gymnasts earn multiple accolades - Sarah Zois, Rachel Katz and Kasey Burke. Zois was honored on a pair of first teams, earning the award on vault (9.875) and on beam (9.835). Zois has racked up five career conference awards, with these being her first two First Team selections. Katz garnered First Team All-EAGL on vault (9.860) for the second time in her career and was honored on bars for the first time with a Second Team selection (9.795). Burke earned the first awards of her career, selected to the All-EAGL First Team on vault (9.855) and earning a spot on the All-EAGL Second Team on floor (9.845). SarahÂ
The Buff & Blue also had three more gymnasts receive recognition on their respective first teams. First-year Delaney DeHaan placed on the All-EAGL First Team on bars (9.830) and classmate Maya Peters made All-EAGL First Team on beam (9.880). Deana Sheremeta earned First Team honors on floor (9.865) and Marlee York placed on the Second Team for vault (9.805), both the first honors of their respective careers.
Fresh off a program record 197.200 last Friday at Towson, GW turns its attention to this year's EAGL Championship again at Towson on Saturday at 4 p.m.
