GW looks to get first win of the season
WASHINGTON – GW women's tennis will look to get its first win of the season when it heads to #44 VCU on Sunday. First serve vs. the Rams is scheduled for 11 a.m.
LAST TIME OUT
GW was outdone in its last three matches. Stella Wiesemann and Gabriela Giraldo each picked up singles wins against Delaware State and ECU on Friday, Feb. 9 and Saturday, Feb. 10, with Giraldo earning straight-set victories in both of her matches. Solange Skeene picked up the lone singles point at Navy on Sunday, Feb. 11.
SCOUTING VCU
VCU women's tennis was selected to win the A-10 Championship in the 2024 preseason poll. Currently, the Rams sit at 9-1 overall. VCU is fresh off a win over William & Mary, 4-1, with Emma Rizzetto leading the team with 14 singles wins. Rizzetto and doubles partner Tiziana Rossini lead VCU in doubles play with 11 wins on the season.
