Irwin Cashes in Win in 100 Free; Swimming & Diving Closes Final Day at Princeton Big Al Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. - The George Washington University closed out the 2024 Princeton Big Al Invitational with one event win, six NCAA B-cut swims and one NCAA Zones diving score on the final day of competition. The GW men claimed third place, while the GW women finished in fourth place.Â
MEN'S HIGHLIGHTS

Elliott Irwin grabbed a victory in the 100-yard freestyle (43.26), also earning an NCAA B-cut time as he finished first in prelims (43.04).Â

Ganesh Sivaramakrishnan claimed an NCAA B-cut time with his second-place finish in the 200-yard backstroke (1:43.45).

Michael Wood claimed third place in the platform dive finals (231.30).Â

Daniel Choi grabbed an NCAA B-cut time in the 1,650-yard freestyle (15:13.43) and finished in fourth.Â

Connor Rodgers finished fourth in the 200-yard butterfly (1:44.71) with an NCAA B-cut time. Justin Dostal finished in fifth, also with a B-cut time (1:44.97).

The men's 400-yard freestyle relay, composed of Irwin, AJ Wood, Sivaramakrishnan and Daniel Nagy, closed out the men's meet in second place (2:53.56), nearly matching the program record.Â
WOMEN'S HIGHLIGHTS

The women's 400-yard freestyle relay, swam by Chloe Hernandez, Marlee Rickert, Colleen MacWilliams and Ava Topolewski, closed the meet with a second-place swim (3:21.06).Â

Olivia Rosen earned big points for GW, claiming second place in the platform dive (228.45) and earning an NCAA Zones cut in the event.Â

Topolewski tapped in third with an NCAA B-cut time in the 1,650-freestyle (16:30.77).

Hernandez submitted a top-four time in the 100-yard freestyle (50.01).

While the swimmers have closed the calendar on 2024, GW's divers will compete once more before the new year. GW's divers will head to the Auburn Diving Invitational, held from Dec. 18-21 in Auburn, Ala.Â
