WASHINGTON – Head coach George Rodriguez and the GW tennis program have announced the addition of Devika Manu ahead of the 2025-26 academic year. Manu, who signed with GW during the NCAA's early signing period, will join the Buff & Blue in the fall of 2025.
Manu, a native of Boyds, Md., joins the Revolutionaries after a standout prep career. The four-star recruit, according to the Tennis Recruiting Network, was in the top 200 recruits in her class and also ranked within the top 200 of TennisRPI during her high school career as well. She's also the second-rated recruit in the state of Maryland for the class of 2025 and the 24th-rated prospect in the Middle Atlantic Region.
"I'm excited to welcome Devika to the team in the fall of 2025," said Rodriguez. "She's academically gifted in the classroom and is a tennis prodigy. Devika is one of the most consistent baseline players I've seen. She combines her skills with a sense of court awareness unmatched by most of her peers. I'm excited to see her growth and development; she has a very high ceiling. Devika will be extremely successful in our conference and will be a great fit on our team."
During her amateur career, Manu has posted an impressive 46 wins against ranked opponents. She holds one victory over a five-star prospect, 11 over four-stars, 25 over three-stars, eight over two-stars and one over a one-star player. In matches against three-star or lower competition, she holds an astounding 34-3 record in singles play, cementing herself as a top-tier high school talent.
"I chose George Washington because of its incredible tennis program and amazing academic opportunities," Manu said. "I really loved the campus and felt a great connection with everyone I met. I'm looking forward to spending the next four years at GW!"
Manu will complete her high school career in Maryland before joining the Buff & Blue next fall.
