WASHINGTON – Head coach George Rodriguez and the George Washington tennis program signed Alexandra Lindqvist to join the program in the fall of 2025 during Wednesday's NCAA's Early Signing Period.
"I'm very excited to welcome Alexandra to the team starting in the fall of 2025," said Rodriguez. "Talk about a turnaround story of grit and determination. She brings a sweet outgoing personality off the court with a never give up mentality on the court. Alex will fit in with the team culture perfectly. She brings an all-court game and is a big presence with her playing style. She covers the court extremely well and has big powerful strokes. She is very coachable and it will be fun to see her journey here at GW."
Lindqvist joins the Revolutionaries after putting together a stellar prep career in Europe. A native of Sweden, Linqvist has recorded a 23-8 record in International Tennis Federation (ITF) singles matches, while also recording a 13-9 mark in ITF doubles play. She currently ranks in the top 700 for junior players in the world as well. She was also the 2024 doubles champion in the J60 Bastad, her only ITF Tournament victory.
"I choose GW because of the unbelievable opportunity to continue my tennis career and academics at a high level," said Lindqvist. "I am so excited to start with the program next fall and to improve myself and meet my new teammates. Also, I'm excited to learn from coach Rodriquez and I know he will help me achieve my goals."
Lindqvist will complete her final junior year in Europe before arriving in Foggy Bottom next season.
