Swimming and Diving Announces 2023-24 Meet Schedule

WASHINGTON - GW swimming and diving has announced its meet schedule for the 2023-24 season. The Buff and Blue will participate in 11 events ahead of the Atlantic 10 Swimming and Diving Championships, when the team will be going for its third-consecutive sweep of the titles.
GW will begin the season as it has the past two seasons, taking on Virginia Tech in the season-opening meet. Scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 23 at 11 a.m., the Buff and Blue will open the new season against a tough Hokies squad at the Smith Center pool.
Turning the page to October, the Revolutionaries will host its second-straight Power 5 opponent to begin the season, as Boston College visits the reigning A-10 Champions on Oct. 7 for a 1 p.m. meet at the Smith Center pool.
The Buff and Blue will then travel for meets at Navy, Pittsburgh and West Virginia in the fall before heading to its mid-season meet at the Princeton Invitational from Thursday, Nov. 30, through Sunday, Dec. 3.
After the new year, GW will host Georgetown at the Smith Center pool for Senior Day, where the Revolutionaries will honor its graduating class and look to extend its win streak to seven meets in a row over the Hoyas.
Following Senior Day, GW will swim in meets at Yale and UVA in preparation for the 2024 A-10 Championships, where the Revolutionaries will look for their third-straight sweep of the men's and women's titles. The 2024 A-10 Championships will take place from Wednesday, Feb. 21, through Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Hampton Aquaplex in Hampton, Va.
Continuing through postseason, the Revolutionaries will look to send another strong contingent of divers to the NCAA Zone A Diving Championships - the regional diving meet that GW sent five divers to a year ago.
As it has done successfully in both of the last two years with Djurdje Matic in 2022 and Julia Knox in 2023, GW will look to qualify individuals for the NCAA Championships. The 2024 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships will take place from Wednesday, March 20, through Saturday, March 23, at the University of Georgia in Athens, Ga. The 2024 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships will take place from Wednesday, March 27, through Saturday, March 30, at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind.
