LYNCHBURG, Va. - With summer ball well underway, three members of the GW baseball program received an invite to the NACSB Prospect Games this past week on the campus of Liberty University.
Ty Acker, Brayden Kurtz and Tim Nicholson represented the Buff & Blue, as well as their respective summer league in a prospect showcase put together by the National Association of College Summer Ball. The event is designed to bring the Top 25-30 pro prospects from each league to one location and provide an opportunity for the best of the best to showcase in front of Major League Baseball clubs.
Acker appeared in two games for the Hamptons League, reaching base twice, scoring a run and driving in one. Kurtz pitched in relief for the Southern League and posted a strikeout across two innings. Nicholson earned the start at catcher for the Cal Ripken League, walking and scoring a run in three trips to the dish.
