
Outdoor Track Wraps Weekend at A-10 Championship

GW records eight personal bests and two school records
AMHERST, Mass. – George Washington outdoor track concluded its weekend at the Atlantic 10 Championship at the UMass Track and Field Complex in Amherst, Mass.
On Saturday, Thomas Sand finished fifth in the men's 10k in a new school record of 30:03. Miles Grant placed sixth in the long jump with a personal best of 7.38m and Emma Benzinger bested her school record in the women's 100m with a personal best 12.89.
In her steeplechase debut, Lexi Seifert finished fourth overall with a time of 10:47, good enough for fourth all-time in program history.
Ryan Fowkes started Sunday's action with a strong showing in the men's 1500m, finishing in second and three seconds faster than the previous meet record with a time of 3:44.85. In addition, Pat Castellano, Michael Bohlke and Jacob Heredia each recorded personal bests in the event.
On the women's side, Sarah Mitchell posted a personal best in the 1500m with a time of 4:29.40.
Bohlke, Heredia, Castellano and Fowkes rounded out the championship weekend with a school record in the men's 4x800m relay with a 7:37.28, besting the previous school record by seven seconds.
