GW gets first look at A-10 foes Rhode Island, Massachusetts
LEONIA, N.J. - GW women's rowing won a pair of races on Saturday afternoon at the Overpeck Invite while also getting their first look at some of the top competition in the Atlantic 10.
The Buff & Blue went up against Rhode Island and Massachusetts in addition to Bucknell, Marist and UConn in two matches, one in the morning and another in the afternoon.
GW's V8 and 2V8 came away with victories in the afternoon matches, topping UMass, Bucknell and UConn in both heats. The Buff & Blue came in second in both morning matches to Rhode Island, falling by 3.55 seconds in the V8 and just 0.408 seconds in the 2V8.
GW will have one more tune-up before next month's Atlantic 10 Championship when it returns to action in two weeks at the George Mason Invitational on Sunday, April 23 in Fairfax Station, Va.
