Chambliss Named EAGL Gymnast of the Week

Graduate student earns the honor after season-highs on vault and in the all-around
Deja Chambliss of GW gymnastics has been selected as the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Gymnast of the Week, the league announced on Wednesday. It's the second-straight week GW has been recognized, with Kendall Whitman earning Specialist of the Week on Feb. 8.
Chambliss earned her fourth-straight vault title on Sunday at New Hampshire, posting a season-high 9.925 on the event. Chambliss also hit a season-high in the all-around with a 39.425 to tie for first overall. The Chesterfield, Va., native placed third overall on floor with a 9.875.
Chambliss is first overall in EAGL on vault with a 9.887 average, good enough for 19th nationally.
GW returns to the Charles E. Smith Center for its annual Pink Meet on Friday, welcoming North Carolina, Temple and Yale for a 7 p.m. start. Tickets are available for purchase here.
